Every year, the Starboard Consulting team enjoys visiting with colleagues, partners and clients at MaximoWorld. This year was no exception.
MaximoWorld is always a well-attended event and an important opportunity to discuss concerns and issues among the greater Maximo user community. It’s also a great opportunity to learn what’s new with Maximo and how it can benefit our clients.
Here are our key takeaways from MaximoWorld 2019.
- Maximo 7.6.0.x end of support date will soon be announced – time to schedule your upgrade to 7.6.1.1
- Maximo Anywhere 7.6.0.x and 7.6.1.x end of support will be April 30, 2020. Numerous feature benefits will be available with the Maximo 7.6.3 release.
- IBM is releasing a new industry solution, Maximo for Civil Infrastructure, to meet the needs of civil infrastructure, including highways, bridges and utilities
- Maximo Asset Performance Management (APM) continues to roll out improved user experiences, new features and predictive analytic solutions on the roadmap
- New Work Centers, including Inventory Management, help users to better understand work efficiency, supply rates, inventory balances, and other KPIs.
- Dynamic Job Plans allow users to better define and scale resources by specific units of work. Job Plans can be applied to work orders to automatically calculate and more accurately allocate resources needed to perform the work based on things like the number of assets, scope of work, or asset characteristics.
- A new Scripting Editor will make reviewing/editing Automation Scripts much easier for developers! This small bit of script can have a big impact. Unlike Java customization, Automation Scripts can be added, modified, or disabled without any downtime.
